The way we talk is important... so we have decided to share our tone of voice with you.
We all love to talk... sometimes we could be accused of doing too much talking and not enough doing but that’s what makes us, us.
Through our blog, our site and the interactions you have with us, we want to make sure you get to know us. This is why we are sharing our tone of voice with you. Tone of voice is just how we talk to people. It’s not complex and basically boils down to speaking to people like people and not email addresses.
Everyone remembers being taught to “speak to others, the way you wish to be spoken to” well it turns out that lesson was a really important life one…
How we talk
Have a read below and let us know what you think. If you see that we aren’t holding up our end of the bargain and you feel like a number, email address or concrete post then let us know.
• We are inclusive. It’s not "them and us". Welcome to the brand, it’s your brand too.
• We use simple sentences and sentence structures. Write it the way you say it.
• We are positive but not over the top, as it doesn’t feel genuine. We talk in affirmations we try not to say no.
• AND we start sentences with and but and because. BECAUSE that’s the way we talk.
• We hit return a lot... ⏎ it is a natural break and gives us time to pause and ponder.
• Sometimes we have to be serious and legal but we don’t confuse people with jargon and mislead them with hidden meanings and small print. We use normal language, not formal.
• We talk to people the way we want to be spoken to. We are kind and caring but also straight to the point. We don’t want to waste time, it’s precious.
• We care about the small conversations.
